Politics: The Hypocritical Views
I’ll be the first to let you know I am not a republican. Or a democrat. I do not follow politics closely enough. I know what issues matter to me and keep a finger on their pulse.
I find the commuting of the sentence of Libby to be outrageous. His perjury involved actual lives and covers. Bill Clinton lied about a consensual sexual affair during his presidency, which I did not tolerate either, but that is neither here nor there.
This in fact holds everything true that I believe in this presidency and that is, ‘We are Law.’ They have marked a war on an invisible enemy who may actually live inside your telephone or on your roof (don’t worry, big brother is watching.) To be honest, if someone wants to hear me drunkenly ramble on my cell phone, I feel sorry for them. They could be having their own versions of debauchery instead of listening in on America’s.
But now if you know the president or vice president, you don’t have to worry about going to jail. Even if you were obstructing justice, it’s cool. You’ll pay a fine and go on your merry way.
Give me a break.
And every person I’ve talked to that still believes in this president keeps bringing up Bill Clinton’s 140 pardons on January 20, 2001. I have not read a single word of the reasons those happened, but I do know that what happened with Libby is wrong. And it is a kick in the teeth to me as an American.
I lost a lot of confidence in the majority of Americans in 2004. I really did have this giant perspective of people really aren’t as ignorant as they are. As I grow older, I realize that ignorance is a quality that is rapidly growing in blind faith in ANYTHING. This president is only one example.
This all makes me disheartened, but I shouldn’t really talk because I doubt I’ll ever run for president and actually change things. But should I, know that if you give away CIA operatives information, you will most definitely serve a sentence that a judge gave you and a jury convicted you of.
